One of the reasons I possibly love this shoot so much is because it captures the talent of a young Hamiltonian. The other, possibly, is because it captures a lot about Hamilton. Let me explain both these statements.

I have been in love with ballet since I can remember. I can remember renting ballet instructional movies for kids from the library (oh the 90’s). I can remember stopping in on a class and being allowed to join for a few minutes. And I can remember never actually being in ballet classes. While I took dance through high school and always performed in musical theatre, I never actually took ballet. Maybe that’s why I’m always so mesmerized by ballerinas, or maybe it’s because Abby is just so awesome. She is a young person who has real talent, not the fake stuff you see on T.V. That’s one of the reasons I love this session so much.

As for the capturing Hamilton? Our city is a self proclaimed art city. We are artists and dancers, singers and song writers, architects, chefs, baristas, photographers, painters and more. Hamilton is filled to the brim with talent and a huge chunk of that is creative talent. From making a beautiful cup of coffee to walking across a street on Pointe. We shot downtown Hamilton, McNab Street Church and Whitehern. I think these images really bring to life a lot of what Hamilton is about.

And with that, enjoy Abby and her road!
